The Route des Grands Crus: a treasure starting from Dijon

The Route des Grands Crus de Bourgogne, often called the 'Champs-Élysées of wine', stretches over 60 km from Dijon to Santenay. This legendary route crosses 37 villages and no fewer than 33 Grands Crus, making Dijon the ideal starting point for wine tourism in Burgundy.

Itinerary from Dijon: the must-stop villages

Marsannay-la-Côte (5 km from Dijon): The first wine village south of Dijon, famous for its unique Burgundy rosé. The perfect stop to ease into your wine tourism day.

Gevrey-Chambertin (12 km): An iconic village home to 9 Grands Crus including the famous Chambertin, Napoleon's favourite wine. Many estates open for visits.

Vougeot (17 km): The Château du Clos de Vougeot, seat of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin, is a must. The Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru is among the most famous in the world.

Vosne-Romanée (18 km): A discreet village home to the most expensive wine in the world — Romanée-Conti. An almost mystical visit for any wine lover.

Nuits-Saint-Georges (22 km): Capital of the Côte de Nuits, with its Imaginarium du Vin and many cellars open for tasting.

Beaune (40 km): The Hospices de Beaune and their famous wine auctions. The town is packed with cellars and gastronomic restaurants.
